Reiki Healing

What is Reiki healing?

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning 'spiritual energy' or 'life force energy and is used to describe any form of healing that uses spiritual energy. In the west, the word Reiki is more often specifically related to the system that originated from the Japanese Buddhist priest Mikao Usui (1865-1926). who discovered a particular way of using spiritual energy to encourage healing of the mind, emotions, body and spirit.

This system of healing is safe, gentle and non-invasive and there is no pressure, manipulation or massage applied.

What happens during a Reiki healing?

We have a brief chat first to give some basic information about your needs. Next, you will lie or sit comfortably and there may be relaxing music playing. It's lovely to close your eyes if you’d like to take advantage of this special ‘me’ time.

Reiki (spiritual energy) will naturally flow through my hands and they will sense disturbances in your energy field, then they’ll re-balance your energy flow, according to your current needs. The total session is one hour.

Remote or Distance Reiki healing

This treatment can be just as effective at a distance or ‘remotely’, so you can relax in the comfort of your home while I work with you from my home or clinic. For a remote healing, with brief discussions before and after the healing on the phone, with your healing time will be spent sitting or lying quietly.

If you have a loved one in hospital or care home who need treatment, this could be an ideal way of me sending healing to them, providing they have given permission.

Remote healing for animals

I am also very happy to send remote healing to any animals who are in need of help. I have experience of working with dogs, cats, horses and chickens so far and welcome all other species.

Reiki practitioner's hands are gently placed on their client's body in a specific order to balance their energy systems.
Remote healing: I imagine your energy field in miniature in front of me, wherever you are in the world.
